Paintings tablets series — Painting 1 of 6This series of paintings was inspired by thinking about cellphones and the phenomenal spaces that they create. By creating textural surfaces on a tablet the size of an iPhone 4s with oil sticks, I am experimenting with traditional painting and also with UX design including buttons, swiping motions etc. Thanks for watching!----------Hi my name is Jesse Ruiz and I’m an artist and data engineer. I make painting, drawings, videos and write. My art practice is informed by traditional oil painting in representational and non-representational forms, comic making, and multimedia experimentation. Recently, I began making oil paintings on substrates that reference cell phone shapes as well as endeavoring into digital art making practices to create NFTs.
