Paintings tablets series — Painting 9 Layer 2Update: Layer two here we goooooo!!!This series of paintings was inspired by thinking about cellphones and the phenomenal spaces that they create. By creating textural surfaces on a tablet the size of an iPhone 4s with oil sticks, I am experimenting with traditional painting and also with UX design including buttons, swiping motions etc. Thanks for watching!——————Hi, my name is Jesse Ruiz and I’m an artist and data engineer. I make painting, drawings, videos and generative art. My art practice is informed by traditional oil painting in representational and non-representational forms, comic making, and multimedia experimentation. Recently, I began making oil paintings on substrates that reference cell phone shapes as well as endeavoring into digital art making with digital painting and GANS.
